Steps to setup ad hoc connection on windows 7 PC

Step 1: In your laptop setup an ad hoc wireless connection.

Following are steps to setup the ad hoc connection

1.      Navigate to Network Sharing Center

Control Panel -> Network and Internet -> Network and Sharing Center

2. Click on setup a new connection or network

3.      Select setup a wireless adhoc network and click on Next.

Provide Name of the network (SSID) and select security type if needed.

Note: To save the Network check the ‘Save this network” check box

Step 2:

Disconnect all the wifi networks that your laptop is connected to. Also make sure that you got connected to your LAN.

 >>Now connect to the ad hoc wifi connection which you created now, It will be in “Waiting for Users”  status.

>> Enable the wifi on you iPhone and scan for the network, ad hoc network will be displayed on your iPhone.

>> Now connect to the ad hoc network in the iPhone.  Then your network status will be changed to Connected.

Step 3: (Sharing the network)

>> Click on “Change Adapter Settings” in Network and Sharing Center.

>> Select the Local Area Network (LAN) to which your laptop is connected, right click on it and go to properties.

>> Navigate to the “Sharing” tab, check the “Allow other network users to connect through this computer internet connection” checkbox.

>> Select “Wireless Network Connection” in the Home Networking Connection dropdown. Make sure that you select “ Allow other network users to control or disable the shared internet connection.

>> Click on Settings, where you can select the network services that you want to share.

Note: Make sure that you are connected to the ad hoc wifi in the Phone and able to access internet.
